The Senior Director, Enterprise PMO & Portfolio Management is responsible for establishing and leading a best-in-class project, program, and portfolio management function that enables successful execution of organizational strategy. This leader partners with executive leadership to prioritize investments, balance organizational capacity, manage strategic initiatives, and ensure delivery of measurable business outcomes. The role also champions AI-enabled delivery, automation, and innovation across the enterprise.
Key Responsibilities
· Lead enterprise portfolio governance, prioritization, capacity planning, and strategic execution.
· Partner with executive leadership to evaluate, prioritize, sequence, and govern strategic initiatives.
· Oversee cross-functional programs and transformation initiatives from intake through value realization.
· Develop PMO methodologies, standards, reporting frameworks, and governance practices.
· Build and lead a high-performing team of project and program managers.
· Serve as a trusted advisor to executive leadership regarding risks, dependencies, investment decisions, and organizational capacity.
· Drive portfolio-level reporting, forecasting, and executive visibility into strategic outcomes.
· Implement and scale AI, automation, analytics, and emerging technologies that improve project delivery and business decision-making.
· Foster a culture of innovation, accountability, continuous improvement, and operational excellence.
· Ensure realization of expected business benefits from strategic initiatives.
Required Skills & Experience
· 10+ years of progressively responsible experience leading enterprise programs, portfolios, PMOs, or business transformation initiatives.
· Demonstrated success leading cross-functional strategic initiatives with executive stakeholders.
· Strong business, financial, and operational acumen.
· Exceptional communication, leadership, influence, and organizational change management capabilities.
· Experience in technology-enabled operations, digital transformation, AI adoption, or automation initiatives is highly desirable.
· Bachelor's degree, advanced degree, or equivalent combination of education and directly relevant experience. Significant proven experience may be considered in lieu of formal education requirements.
Preferred Experience
· Experience within HCM, payroll, HR technology, SaaS, or other technology-enabled business environments.
· Experience driving digital transformation, automation, or AI initiatives.
· PMP, PgMP, Agile, SAFe, or comparable certification preferred.
· Advanced degree in Business, Technology, Project Management, or a related field preferred.
